Now SW is certainly a fan of French, and has been known to go silly for Spanish, but most close to our hearts is straight-up Italian feast done just how Lo Stivale intended. Every once in a while you also stumble across a restaurant that plucks the heart strings and has you heading back time and time again for a single dish, which is certainly true of Osteria Basilico and the Braised Osso Bucco that drives us wild. Italian done the way it was meant...with friendly staff only too happy to bring more of the amazing food the kitchen turns out. Wine selection is simple but well-chosen to compliment the traditional fare and wonderful pasta. It seems apparent that great food draws back repeat business, and it’s quite often that the place gets packed and reservations can be tough if not booked early. Sister restaurant Essenza (just a short walk away) is on hand to handle the overflow, but Osteria is definitely the star of the group and a firm W11 favourite. SW tip - try reserving a table on the ground floor as the surroundings are a tad nicer than those on the lower ground floor.
