SW REVIEW
Pizza East finally goes West. Yep, that's right, no more long tube journeys or extortionate cab fares to 'edgy Shoreditch'. Located on Portobello Road within an old pub, the new pizzaria boasts style and charm with its full length windows, spot-reclaimed chairs, exposed brick walls, visible open fire and blue and white colour scheme. Head upstairs to find a bar and a leafy terrace. Oh yes, and the pizza comes out just as it should - light and airy with a slight crisp around the edge. They've brought over a few of the favourite toppings from Shoreditch but also created some new ones – the signature Portobello mushroom, taleggio and oregano pizza is a must! The menu also contains some alternatives to pizza such as slow-roasted whole baked salmon or whole beef fillet, which take on the smoky flavours of the wood oven. Just when you thought this place couldn't get any better, their breakfast offerings (green eggs and ham, Porridge and cherry compote, smoked herring) make for a great brunch. Don't worry about reservations (they don't even take them) and head over for breakfast, lunch, dinner or hey, even all three.
