SW REVIEW
The path to multi-Michelin-stardom may seem a long and difficult road for some, but this is one London hotel restaurant which is making sure that it ticks every box along the way, having not rested on its laurels after receiving its first in 2010. Part-champagne bar, part-haute-cuisine and all Icelandic-influenced chic, this is truly one venue that puts the customer first. Service is unparalleled, with teams of friendly and extra-helpful staff only too happy to satisfy your every whim, and the food is nothing if not adventurous. Dishes come busily layered with a multitude of flavours which, while perhaps not to the traditionalist’s taste, certainly make for an interesting meal. With champagne something of a specialty (the sparkling list alone comes in book form), and a great array of less well-known wines from non-classical European countries (Luxembourg, anyone?), diners won’t be spoilt for choice in picking something to compliment, especially with the knowledgeable and oh-so-courteous sommeliers to hand. With a la carte and evening tasting menu prices firmly in the ‘Michelin-starred’ range, expect to run up a bit of a bill, though the set lunch for (24 pounds) is a real steal.
